Named after the bougainvillea that floods its living room with brilliant pink light every summer, this recently renovated stone house sits in the heart of Skopelos Town — just 150 metres from the harbour. Thick stone walls keep it cool in the heat, and terracotta-tiled floors set the tone for a peaceful, authentic stay.
The home sleeps five comfortably: two in each double bedroom and one in the Fireplace Room, which also works as a study. A sixth guest can use the built-in sofa in the kitchen. The top-floor master bedroom has its own shower, a private balcony with garden and mountain views, and air conditioning. The middle-floor double is also air-conditioned; the Fireplace Room has a ceiling fan — and its own fireplace, should you need it.
Furnished by local craftspeople, fitted with Cocomat mattresses made from natural materials, and stocked with a Nespresso machine, an Aeropress, books, and a full set of games — backgammon, chess, Boggle, cards, Mikado, and dominoes — The Bougainvillea is designed to feel like home.
